Celebrate Fairfax with the Alumni Association!

The George Mason University Alumni Association once again will have a booth at Celebrate Fairfax (better known as the Fairfax Fair). More than 40,000 Mason alumni live in Northern Virginia, and many of them will visit Celebrate Fairfax 2001 on June 8, 9, and 10 at the Fairfax Government Center. The association's presence at the fair offers a great opportunity to connect with alumni while reaching out to the greater community. It's a lot of fun for everyone involved! Look for us at Booth #106 in the Main Exhibition Tent. If you'd like to volunteer to work at the booth with other alumni, please contact Tami O'Brien in Alumni Affairs at [email protected] or (703) 993-8737.

Mason Alumni Day at Camden Yards

Join your fellow alumni, as well as faculty and staff, for a day of Orioles baseball at Camden Yards on Saturday, June 23, 2001. A pregame picnic will be provided in the Club Level Terrace on the concourse in the left-field area of the upper deck. Seating for the game will be in the left-field upper reserve section. The cost is $35 per person and includes a gourmet sandwich buffet, soda, beer, and ticket to see the O's play the Chicago White Sox. Order now by calling Andy Ackley at (703) 993-8739 or sending e-mail requests to [email protected]. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so order yours today!

President's Circle Recognized

University President Alan G. Merten, center, with Edward J. Newberry (B.A., B.S. '84), right, and Robert P. Callahan (J.D. '86), left, at a reception hosted by President Merten and his wife, Sally, at Mathy House.

The reception recognized members of the President's Circle, which was established by the George Mason University Foundation to honor the university's most generous annual donors. Newberry and Gerard M. Stegmaier (B.A. '92, J.D. '00) co-chair the President's Circle Committee, which was created last year within the Annual Fund Committee.
