EDUCATION

1970s

Barbara Lehman, B.S. Elementary Education '74, along with Evelyn Freeman and Patricia Scharer, received the 2000 James P. Barry Ohioana Award for Editorial Excellence for the Journal of Children's Literature. The coeditors teach at the Ohio State University and have produced the journal twice a year since 1997. It is the official publication of the Children's Literature Assembly of the National Council of Teachers of English.

1980s

Valerie Pekich, M.Ed. Counseling and Development '82, retired from 30 years of teaching World History and Geography in the Alexandria, Va., school system and moved to Florida in July 2000.

Patricia Jackson, B.S. Community Health Education '85,joined the Alfred State College Health Services Department as the health educator.

1990s

Anne-Marie Glynn, M.Ed. Health Education '94, accepted a new position as an instructional quality strategist with the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing in Herndon, Va.

Theresa Perrow Aberg, M.Ed. Educational Leadership '96, was appointed principal of Grafton Village Elementary School in Stafford, Va., in January 2000.

Sandra M. Kenney-Bonilla, M.S. Education '99, married Eduardo Bonilla on July 31, 1999.
