Charles T. Davenport, B.S. Economics '77, is a program manager at Lockheed
Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando, Fla.
Elizabeth Henderson Barratt, M.A. Spanish '78, an innkeeper and travel
writer, owns her own bed and breakfast, the 1890 Chesbro House, in Gilroy, Calif.
Debra Rogers Cross, B.A. American Studies '79, completed an M.A. in
Sociology at the University of South Florida in May 2001 and will be an adjunct
professor there beginning this fall.
1980s
Christel Vilogron, B.A. International Studies '81, is director of Government
Affairs and Trade Compliance for MyCustoms in San Carlos, Calif.
Gregory George Paspatis, B.A. History '83, works for Burrelle's Information
Service in Washington, D.C., and in real estate management in Old Town Alexandria,
Va. He is first vice president of the Alexandria Sportsman's Club and a special
writer for the Alexandria Gazette.
John F. Otto, B.S. Biology '84, earned his D.V.M. from Oklahoma State
University in 1990 and is a self-employed veterinarian in Norman, Okla., where
he lives with his wife, Patti, and two children. He was named Young Veterinarian
of the Year in 1997.
Amy McKenzie Dent, B.S. Economics '86, welcomes daughter, Elena Michelle,
to the family, which includes Anthony (11), Julia (8), Alec (3), and Dominic (2).
Linda Pollard (Lou Bell), B.A. Government '86, announces the birth of
her first child, Elizabeth Lofton Pollard, on February 24, 2001.
Julie Baynes, B.A. English '87, is a dancer in the EFX production show
with Rick Springfield at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
Louis Joseph Schiano Jr., B.A. Philosophy and English '88, earned a
Ph.D. from Marquette University with a specialization in phenomenology-existentialism
in May 2001.
Omar Altalib, B.A. Sociology and Economics '89, is an assistant professor
in the Sociology Department at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, and has received
an Earhart Foundation scholarship to attend the Philadelphia Society Meeting.
Susan (Fowler) Bersoux, B.A. English '89, gave birth to Patrick Henri
on May 1, 2001. He joins sisters Sarah (12), Natalie (9), and Allison (6), as
well as brothers Paul (4) and Nicky (2).
Richard Gramzow, B.A. Psychology '89, earned both his master's and doctorate
in social psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Gramzow
was appointed an assistant professor of psychology in the College of Arts and
Sciences at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.
Ralph Sepulveda, B.A. Area Studies '89, received an M.B.A. from the
Keller Graduate School of Management in November 1999 and has been a financial
analyst with the Federal Supply Service since February 2001.
1990s
Thomas N. Moorcones, B.S. Public Administration '90, announces the
birth of daughter Margaret Elizabeth and his recent Chartered Property Casualty
Underwriter and CIC insurance designation.
Rachel (Clow) Snyder, B.A. International Studies '90, is now a full-time
mother to Nolan Bradley, born December 2, 2000.
Stephanie Brodersen, B.A. Psychology '91, and husband, Gregory Brodersen,
B.A. History '92, had their third child, Jeremy Ryan, in October 2000. Their other
children are Jessica (5) and Nicholas (2).
John P. Isa, B.A. International Studies '93 and M.A. International Transactions
'95, earned a J.D., cum laude, from the American University Washington College
of Law in 1999 and is now an associate with Tydings and Rosenberg LLP in Washington,
D.C.
Roger B. Moore Jr., Ph.D. Psychology '93, is president-elect of the
North Carolina Psychological Association.
Lyle A. Wallace, B.A. Government and Politics '93, is an attorney with
Clanahan, Tanner, Downing and Knowlton in Denver, Colo., practicing natural resources
law. He and his wife, S. Ashleigh (Woodall) Wallace, have a new baby, Brooks Carter,
born in January 2001.
L. Allison Jones, B.A. English '94, is an English teacher and yearbook
advisor at Eastern Alamance High School in North Carolina. She is one of 60 teachers
in the state accepted into the N.C. Humanities Council Teachers Institute and
invited for dinner with Lt. Governor Beverly Perdue.
Linda S. (Neher) LaMarca, M.A. '94 and Ph.D. Clinical Psychology '96,
married Anthony LaMarca in December 2000. She is a clinical neuropsychologist
in private practice in central Florida.
Anuj Prashar, B.S. Biology '94, graduated on June 3, 2001, from the
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
degree.
Lynn (Bank) Armstrong, B.A. History '95, married in September 2000 and
recently bought a home in Richmond, Va., where she works as an account representative
for Westvaco Corporation.
Fred Jorgensen, B.A. International Studies '95, has relocated from San
Francisco to Baltimore to organize the web design and interactive marketing effort
at Trahan Burden and Charles, a Baltimore-based advertising agency.
Francis C. Byrnes Jr., B.S. Public Administration '96, is the Eastern
Shore Regional Safe Communities director and formerly with the Ocean City police.
He was married in November 2000.
J. Seth Witmer, B.A. History '96, was promoted to paint technician/working
team lead at Allsteel in Muscatine, Iowa, and has purchased a home in Park Island,
Ill.
Deborah Faye Barfield, M.P.A. '97, earned her J.D. from the University
of Richmond's T.C. Williams School of Law on May 12, 2001.
Doug Boyles, B.A. English '97, a sergeant in the U.S. Army stationed
in Belgium, has been awarded the Department of the Army' Keith L. Ware Award and
the Department of Defense' Thomas Jefferson Award for Broadcast Journalist of
the Year, as well as for best radio show.
Linda A. Dickerhoof, B.A. Speech Communication '98, has been named marketing
manager for the American Society for Industrial Security in Alexandria, Va.
David Freedman, B.A. Philosophy and Spanish '98, graduated with a J.D.,
magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond's T.C. Williams School of Law
in its 2001 class. He is now a law clerk to the Honorable Sylvia H. Rambo, U.S.
District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg.
Stefani Pierson, B.A. Government '98, earned a J.D. from Ohio Northern
University's Pettit College of Law.
Heather Druyun, B.A. Communication '99, is a college recruiter and human
resources specialist for Boeing in St. Louis, Mo. She will marry Michael McKee
in October.
Brian Marcoullier, B.A. Communication '99, is a producer with SportsTalk
980. He and wife Tammi (Wark) Marcoullier, B.A. English '92, have a 10-month-old
daughter, Alexandra Nicole.
