Letter from the President
Dear Alumni:
Wow, I can't believe that a year has passed already! As I look back,
I'm happy to tell you that the state of George Mason's alumni
has never been better. We added four new chapters, started a true endowment,
and enjoyed a record number of alumni attending and participating
in our events.
This year marks the Alumni Association's 35th anniversary,
and we can all be proud of our progress. We now boast a membership
some 89,000 strong and growing. We have in place revenue-producing
affinity programs that offer valuable services to alumni.
There are 15 alumni chapters, and more than 13,000 of you receive our
monthly online newsletter, MasonWire.
There is no better time to get involved. Our alma mater has become
an institution recognized worldwide for its innovation and information
technology, while remaining committed to providing a strong foundation
in the liberal arts. Your Alumni Association continues to grow and
prosper with new events and activities every year. We welcome and encourage
each and every one of you to let us know where you are and what you
are doing, and join us at the next event. Take the time to sign up
on our online directory, which you can access from our web site at www.gmu.edu/alumni.
As your president for one more year, I look forward to the opportunity
to meet and get to know as many of you as possible.
