Susan Lewsen, B.S.N. '80, and her coauthor signed a contract with Lippincott Publishers to write a new textbook for nurse aides. She also announces the birth of her first grandchild, Jacob Michael Kauffman, on September 16, 2001.

Dorothy A. Michael, B.S.N. '80, retired at the rank of captain from the Navy Nurse Corps in September 2001 after 30 years of service. She and her husband have relocated to her home state of Pennsylvania.

Sarah Thompson Gardner, B.S.N. '82, became the clinical education coordinator at Henrico Doctors Hospital­Parham Campus, Richmond, Va., in August 2001.

Becky Banks Miller, B.S. Community Health Education '88, announces the birth of her third child, Caleb Robert, on September 7, 2001. He joins Curtis (5) and Carlyn (3).

1990s

Debbie Phillips Goodpasture, B.S. Health Education '92, has earned a B.S.N. from the Medical College of Virginia and has two children, Laurel (4) and Colin (1).

Douglas W. Oliver, B.S.N. '98 and Health Systems Management '01, passed the national and state examinations to practice as a nursing home administrator in Virginia.

Jeffrey Kaminski, M.S. Exercise Fitness '99, married Siobhan Joyce on July 28, 2001, in Atlantic City, N.J.
