New Century College Celebrates First Decade

In 1995, English professor John S. O’Connor and Biology professor Karen K. Oates were named dean and associate dean of New Century College (NCC), respectively; registration, orientation, and advising for nearly 200 first-year students was held; and NCC set up offices in Robinson Hall.

NCC now makes its home in Enterprise Hall. Associate Dean Janette Muir has led the college since 1999.

“The focus of education has changed to recognize that learning has both an intellectual and an experiential aspect to it. New Century reshapes the college curriculum with that in mind.”
