This is the Law School’s fifth consecutive year in the ranking’s top tier. The school’s intellectual property law specialty was ranked 24. </p> <p> The computer science PhD program based in the Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering (IT&E) was listed for the first time in the rankings, coming in at 60. The program is a joint effort between the Department of Computer Science (CS) and the Information and Software Engineering Department (ISE). </p> <p>“This significant recognition reflects the quality of our CS and ISE faculty,” says IT&E Dean Lloyd Griffiths. “Their commitment to building a world-class doctoral program is producing some of the finest graduates in the country. I am fully confident that we will continue to move upward in the <em>U.S.News & World Report</em> rankings and our progress in doing so will surprise many people.”</p> <p> Mason’s graduate education program was ranked 66 overall in the newest edition, up from a previous ranking of 73.</p> <p> “I think that the fact that we are ranked alongside many long-standing, large research universities, and higher than quite a few, attests to the strength of our faculty and students, not only in research and scholarship but in impact on the field of education,” says Jeff Gorrell, dean of the College of Education and Human Development.</p> </div> <div id="photo_column"><img src="images/usnews.jpg" alt="" width="180" height="233" /></div> <div class="clearance"></div> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ?
