Astronomy professor Harold A. Geller, MAIS ’92, DA Education ’05, stands on the highest level of Mason’s new observatory tower. He is helping photographers set up a shot for an advertisement (shown above right). The ad, which features astronomy professor Merav Opher and doctoral student Rebekah Evans, is one of a yearlong series of ads promoting Mason research. The ads have run in regional issues of such magazines as Time, Newsweek, and Business Week.

The observatory in one of Mason’s newest buildings, Research I, will be home to a high-powered telescope that is being custom built for the university.
