Alumni Take Helm at Business Alliance

Among those serving on the board of directors of the Business Alliance of George Mason University for the 2006–07 academic year are a number of Mason alumni, some of whom have taken on leadership positions.

“We always are excited to welcome Mason alumni to our board of directors,” says Judy Costello, executive director of the Business Alliance. “We appreciate their passion for Mason and its programs.”

Jerry Pierce, MBA ’92, tax partner at KPMG, was elected president, and Kevin Antler, BA Communication ’90, executive vice president and chief operating officer of KnowledgeBank Inc. was elected vice president/president-elect. Other alumni named to 2006–07 board are Rich Trimber, BA English ’94, partner, Intersource; Kim Larkin, BA Communication ’90, chief operating officer and partner, D Larkin & Associates; Anne Rosenblum, MBA ’98, marketing manager, Fairfax County Economic Development Authority; and Julia Strickland, JD ’92, partner, Reed Smith.

The Business Alliance was founded in 1988 to build connections between Mason and the local business community. Today, the Business Alliance offers a variety of networking events, educational forums, business–education partnership activities, and volunteer opportunities that benefit the region’s business community and the university through the exchange of ideas and expertise.

“I am thrilled to join the Business Alliance’s board of directors,” says Larkin. “As a Mason graduate, I am pleased to see this kind of innovative effort making such measurable strides, helping to fuel even greater growth for our region.”
