David Roe, BS Accounting ’89 and MBA ’96, is the new president of the George Mason University Foundation. Roe is the first Mason alumnus to hold this position.
The foundation generates, manages, invests, and administers private support on behalf of the university.
“I am honored to serve in this position,” says Roe. “I look forward to working with the foundation trustees to advance and further the aims of the university.”
Roe joined the foundation staff in 1990 and has served as chief financial officer since 1999. He has twice been cited as a finalist in the Virginia Business Magazine CFO of the Year program and is an adjunct faculty member in Mason’s accounting program.
Michael Anzilotti, MBA ’83 and LHD (Hon.) ’03, foundation board chair, announced Roe’s appointment in October.
“We are pleased to have the in-house expertise Dave brings to this position, so that he can take on this role,” Anzilotti said.
