1970s

Bonnie Jones, M.Ed. Special Education '76, completed her doctorate in education at Teachers College, Columbia University on February 9, 2000.

Theodora Dacales, B.S. Early Education '77, is principal at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church Greek School.

1980s

Kathy Kay Gregory, B.S. Health and Physical Education '80, moved to Florida in 1997; obtained licenses in property and casualty, life and health, mutual funds, and variable insurance; and works for Prudential Insurance in Coral Gables, Fla.

Sherry Baldwin, B.S. Early Education '89, and Monroe Baldwin, B.A. Economics '90, live in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., with their sons, Monroe and Larson. Sherry is president of Read It to Me Publishing. She earned an M.Ed. at the University of Virginia in 1996 and has published Beecher Bear Plays Here and There, a book for children ages 3 to 50. Monroe is president of Myrtle Beach Tours.

1990s

Kara Hagerman, B.S. Early Education '91, had her second child, Brent Jacob, on October 4, 2000.

Mary Wharton, M.Ed. Educational Instruction '96, cowrote and helped design an interactive CD, "Welcome to Chesapeake Bay: An Introduction to an Ecosystem," which is used on the approved instructional materials for supplementing the earth sciences curriculum in Virginia.

Michael B. Kohn, B.S. Health, Fitness, and Recreation Resources '97, is an athlete on the U.S. National Bobsled Team training for the 2002 Olympics at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Gail Newton, M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction '97, received a master's degree from James Madison University in 1998 as a school library media specialist. After working as a library media specialist at Leesylvania Elementary School in Prince William County, Va., she is now a technology specialist at Godwin Middle School in the graphic arts computer lab.

Jennifer Katz, M.Ed. Early Childhood '98, and Neal Katz, B.A. Political Science '95, announce the birth of their son, Micah Jacob, on November 6, 2000.
