Michael G. Goode, M.B.A.'81, founded independent consulting practice, Telford Consulting, at the George Mason Enterprise Center. The focus is infrastructure engineering management.

Tom Adams, B.S. Business Administration '82, was promoted to vice president and regional manager of the southwest region of Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. This region includes Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Colorado.

Jeffrey High, M.B.A. '82, a U.S. Coast Guard commandant, was selected into Senior Executive Service (SES) of the federal government in June 1998.

Gary Artis, B.S. Accounting '83, started Artis & Associates, Inc. (A&A), and was listed in the November 30, 1998, issue of Fortune Magazine as one of the top 500 Fastest Growing Technology Companies in America. A&A was also awarded the top Great Plains Dynamics Software Reseller in the World for 1998.

Stanley E. Lamarre, B.S. Business Administration '85, in working on an M.B.A. at University of Connecticut and is a finance and insurance manager for Barberino Pontiac, Nissan, Kia in Wallingford, Conn.

Charles A. McGrath, B.S. Finance/Management Information Systems '86, was admitted to the partnership of Andersen Consulting in September 1998.

J. Linnea Bucher, M.B.A. '88, has come out of retirement from the federal government and is now customs administration manager for Carmichael International Service, a customhouse broker.

Harun C. Murray, B.S. Accounting '88, is the principal of his own accounting practice in Herndon, Va. He has received certificates of educational achievement from the AICPA in business valuations and financial planning, and from Surgents & Associations in estate planning.

Michael Nette, B.S. Finance '89, lives in Chantilly, Va., and has a one-year-old son, Karl Joseph.

1990s

David L. Core, M.B.A. '92, and Melinda Core had their third child and first son, Daniel Louis, born on October 22, 1998. David is the director of technical and regulatory affairs with the Steel Shipping Container Institute in Washington, D.C. The family resides in Manassas, Va.

Lisa M. Fife, B.S. Finance and M.S. Information Systems '92, received a promotion to vice president for management software solutions division of Information Management Consultants, Inc., in McLean, Va.

Kristin L. Flora, B.S. Accounting '92, and husband, Michael, have a one-year-old daughter, Marissa Anne.

Margaret J. Mulhern, B.S. Decision Science and Management Information Systems '92, is human resources manager at Andersen Consulting in San Francisco, Calif.

Julia Harris, M.S. Accounting '93, is the accounting manager for the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) in Alexandria, Va.

George L. Jackson, B.S. Decision Science and Management Information Systems '93, is a project manager of Triad Guaranty Insurance Corporation in Winston-Salem, N.C., and is a student in the M.B.A. program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

L. Allen Wood, B.S. Accounting '93, married Lisa Rather, B.S. Accounting '94, on May 9, 1998. Allen is the controller for Jack Kent Cooke, Inc., in Middleburg, Va.

Ryan Nelson, B.S. Accounting '94, was promoted to audit manager at the Air Force Audit Agency, March Air Reserve Base in Calif.

Matthew Zwerdling, B.S. Management '94, received a J.D. from University of Richmond School of Law in May 1997 and he is in general litigation with the firm of Zwerdling and Oppleman in Richmond, Va.

Debra (Smutney) Burgess, B.S. Management Information Systems '95, was married in 1996 and has a son, David, born in January 1999.

Haytham Ali, B.S. Decisions Science and Management Information Systems '96, married Reem Hassan from Khartoum, Sudan, on April 24, 1998, and they expect their first child in May 1999. Haytham is a programmer analyst for American Management Systems.

Thomas Schweinefuss, B.S. Accounting '96, passed the CPA exam in November 1996 and has been working for Cotton & Company CPAs since that time.
