Director's Letter
Dear Alumni,Never has the name of this magazine been more appropriate. George Mason University is buzzing with excitement following an extraordinary basketball season, a highly successful and fun Homecoming Block Party, the Arlington Campus dedication, and numerous alumni activities blossoming everywhere. In addition, four new alumni chapters have been established: Broadside, DC Metro, Forensics, and Richmond.
If you have visited George Mason lately, you have probably noticed that it looks a little more green and gold. You might have seen offices, windows, and doors decorated with pennants and basketball hoops and slogans that read "Mason Rocks." You might not even be surprised to hear an airplane flying overhead pulling a banner with the phrases "Doin' it Patriot Style" or "Congrats Patriots, CAA Champs." You might have seen a large banner hanging over Chain Bridge Road in downtown Fairfax announcing our men's basketball team as Colonial Athletic Association conference champions, reflecting a renewed interest in developing town and gown relations. "Patriot Pride" is on the rise and the spirit is highly contagious. We encourage you to discover what is generating this excitement.
