EDUCATION1970sDiane Head Fischer, B.S. Elementary Education '73, celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary with husband, Jeff Fischer. They have two sons: Kevin, age 21, and Todd, age 20. Diane teaches at Kitty Hawk Elementary School in Kitty Hawk, N.C., and received her master's degree in elementary education from East Carolina University in May 1998.
1980sPeter A. Stinson, M.Ed. Counseling and Development '87, was appointed as the clinical director for the Tidewater Critical Incident Stress Management Team, a nonprofit organization that holds the contract with the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide critical incident stress management interventions to public service workers. Noreen Parrella, M.Ed. Counseling '89, received her Florida state mental health license and national certification in counseling in July 1998 and married Richard M. Layne of Jacksonville, Fla., in October 1998.
1990sLee-Alison Sibley, M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction '95, is living and working in Amman, Jordan, due to a State Department transfer of her husband, a career diplomat. She is teaching at the Amman Baccalaureate School and is head of the Performing Arts Department, responsible for all K-12 music and drama programs. Maureen Daily, M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction '97, is a full-time, second-grade teacher at Weems Elementary School in Manassas, Va. Aileen D. Fermin, M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction '97, was selected as one of the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year (120AY) in the entire United States Air Force and will be stationed at Keflavik, Iceland, in January 1999. Susan F. McCrary, M.Ed. Counseling and Human Development '97, is an employee assistance program counselor for SELECT, Inc., at U.S. Customs Service.
