LAW1980sDonald J. Purser, J.D. '80, is president of a flour lawyer civil litigation and estate and asset protection planning law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has been accepted as a member of The Offshore Institute. He also teaches law in the Army JAG School's LL.M. program at the University of Virginia. He is a contributing author to Generations: A Legacy Plan, published in December 1998. John Wrieden, J.D. '80, is a professor in the Executive M.B.A. program at Florida International University and has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship as a senior scholar for program year 1998-99. He will join the law faculty at the University of Rostock, Germany, where he will teach comparative international law and will lecture at other German and European universities under the sponsorship of the Fulbright Commission in Bonn. Wrieden has received numerous teaching awards, as well as a State of Florida Board of Regents Teaching Excellence Commendation, and was presented with the Best Professor Award from FIU's E.M.B.A. class of 1998. Samuel G. McTyre, J.D. '82, has been appointed to a three-year term on the 18-member board of directors for the Arlington Housing Corporation. Thomas W. Farrell, J.D. '87, became a shareholder of Wooten & Hart, P.C., in January 1998. Martha Ott Garmon, J.D. '87, and her husband, F. Warren Garmon, of Centreville, Va., are proud to announce the birth of their fifth son, John William Ott Garmon, on May 13, 1998.
