NURSING

1970s

John T. Pack, B.S. Nursing '77, is director of the Nursing Resource Center and a visiting professor at Miami University. He has received recertification in nursing staff development/continuing education.

1980s

Elizabeth Sciora, B.S. Nursing '83, a certified nurse- midwife in Burlington, N.C., is expecting a baby.

1990s

Bethany Hall-Long, Ph.D. Nursing '93, assistant professor of nursing at the University of Delaware, received an excellence in teaching award at the close of the spring semester for academic year 1997-98. Bethany credits George Mason professor Catherine Malloy as being the central influence in her decision to teach versus becoming a nurse administrator or continuing to work in health policy.

Dorothy C. Christen, B.S. Nursing '95, is a Navy lieutenant commander and has completed a multinational exercise in the Mediterranean and Baltic Sea aboard the hospital ship USNS Comfort, home ported in Baltimore, Md.

Shawna Miller, B.S. Nursing '97, and her husband, Chuck, announce the birth of their first baby, Nathan Charles, born June 4, 1998.

Mark Vojtko, B.S. Nursing '97, is a registered nurse at Loudoun Hospital Center's intensive care unit. He participated in the 1998 world-record skydiving formation in Chicago, Ill., on July 24, 1998. The old record of 200 was set in 1991. The new record stands at 246.
