Here Come the Bride(s)! Alum, Two Sisters to Share Wedding Altar

By Jason Jacks on October 4, 2010

If one bride ain’t enough, Jack, then you better make it three.

This Saturday, Mason law school graduate, Katie Kunkel, JD ’09, will share a wedding with two other brides she has something very much in common with: They all have the same parents.

In a move spurred on mostly by economics (you can almost hear dad exhaling in relief all the way from the Upper Midwest), the three sisters will all tie the knot to their respective husbands-to-be at the same church in Wisconsin.

According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, the sisters, who all became engaged over an 18-month period, will each have their own set of bridesmaids while their fiancés will have their own groomsmen. There will also be three priests, three sets of vows, three wedding cakes, and three first dances (better start limbering up, dad).

So much has news of the wedding-times-three caught fire that the couples plan to be interviewed on CBS’s The Early Show this Thursday, according to the Press Gazette. The cable channel, TLC, has even contacted the couples about filming a documentary about the big day. But the couples turned down the offer because, as they told the newspaper, they want to maintain some privacy.
