Video Countdown: Mason’s YouTube Top Five

By Jason Jacks on December 13, 2010

Michael Smith at the Patriot Center.

With YouTube announcing this month its top 10 most viewed videos of 2010, I thought it was about time to see where Mason-mentioned videos stack up. Not wanting to limit myself to just this year, I searched on all videos in YouTube that mention “George Mason University,” and sorted them by view count. Of the top five, Christian music is well represented, Mason basketball makes an appearance, blue-headed mimes tap their inner-Skynyrd, and Zetas kick up their heels.

By the way, I would have listed the top 10 videos, but number six would have proven problematic considering this is a family friendly publication. Thanks for nothing, Porno Dan.

1. Christian singer/songwriter Michael Smith performing at the Patriot Center in 1993 (1,028,283 views)

2. Mason men’s basketball shocks the world! (335,103 views )

3. Michael Smith take 2 (321,005 views)

4. Zeta Phi Beta step team somewhere on Mason in 2005 (185,469 views)

5. Blue Moon Group performing at the Patriot Center (172,548 views)
