Shaping Young Lives, Gift by Gift
Serving 600 youth in 2018 alone, the Early Identification Program (EIP) helps first-generation middle school and high school students prepare to attend college. Since 1987, more than 1,800 students from across Northern Virginia have completed EIP, going on to college at Mason or elsewhere, and exemplifying Mason’s and the program’s commitment to access for all. Hundreds of individual donors and corporate sponsors have collectively contributed $4.3 million to support EIP students during that span.

Raising the Bar for Giving

The 2016 naming of the Antonin Scalia Law School, in honor of the late U.S. Supreme Court justice, was made possible by two of the largest gifts in the university’s history: one from the Charles Koch Foundation, and one from an anonymous donor. These gifts fund scholarships for hundreds of law students over five years. Six current U.S. Supreme Court justices attended the dedication, along with Justice Scalia’s family.
